Can You Be Gifted...and Learning Disabled?

Most individuals in my generation would definitely disagree with the notion that students who are gifted cannot be learning disabled and vice-versa. However, based on recent research this is not the case anymore. Because of schools having mutual exclusivity over students who are learning disabled and gifted - students cannot fit both of these profiles even if it has been shown to be the case. There is an increase in students who have two exceptionalities and need more interventions as the years go by.
